After recieving a email from a Purdue student looking to find a home for one of the dogs used in her class PETA reasearched, and found some disturbing information about Purdue University’s Veterinary Technology Program. In the program students are depended on to find a home for the animals and if they fail to find a home, the dog is killed. PETA sent a letter to the University stateing that there is much easier way of learning this without hurting healthy animals. They asked Purdue to "perform the procedures only on animals who are living in homes and who will receive a direct medical benefit from them, and to begin working with veterinarians in a clinical setting and with mannequins."
i dont understand how Purdue University could get away with doing this. You would think the program would atleast teach the students some care for animals if thye are taking a Veterinary Technology Program. If i were one of the students i would have informed someone about this, the students are the ones paying for their education so they could have easily protested and not done it.
